Does this ruling lend support to Byron Boyd's attempt to force "single representation of the operating emplyees - not for the protection of either organization, but for the betterment and protection of each and every operating employee?" Will this lead to the loss of jobs for 4000 to 5000 UTU members? Just the other day when this RCOperator was temporarily shut down by a governor overspeed fault and was complaining about having to work with the CRAPTRON junk, the Travelling Hogger advised us to lay down some sand (presumably when conditions require it) in order to prevent wheel spin. Now this sounds like just the sort of thing the computer should be doing but which we are now being asked to worry about along with all our other additional locomotive engineer duties. We would suggest that anyone who buys Gil's argument and ignores the trainhandling aspects of his new job does so at his own risk.)
